Verified BillOps by TimeToPoint
Verify AI and vendor work evidence before you pay.
CFO Bill Ops by TimeToPoint helps finance, procurement, and operations teams review whether AI-assisted work, offshore delivery, vendor-reported activity, SaaS usage, or workflow claims are backed by usable evidence before payment is approved.
10 working days. One month of billing data. Your evidence stays private.
This page answers
- What evidence should finance teams check before approving AI, SaaS, vendor, offshore, or workflow-related bills?
- What is included in a CFO AI Bill Evidence Brief?
- When does a team need a one-off Evidence Brief versus ongoing software monitoring?
- What CFO Bill Ops does not replace: AP automation, legal advice, statutory audit, tax advice, or forensic certification.
AP automation closes the gap between invoice receipt and payment. It does not close the gap between activity and outcome.
When the line item is "AI-assisted analysis: £8,000," AP automation routes the invoice efficiently. It does not tell you whether the analysis was scoped, reviewed, accepted, or used.
The verification gap sits between the workflow and the invoice. It is an evidence problem, not an automation problem.
Five hidden cost drivers AP automation doesn't see.
1. Retry storms
Failed agent workflows that retry hundreds of times before surfacing as a single line item — invisible to AP, expensive to the cost centre.
2. Bloated context windows
Agents running on oversized prompts because no one trimmed the context. Materially higher token cost per task with no clear quality lift.
3. Tool-call duplication
Multi-agent workflows calling the same vendor API repeatedly because no caching or memoisation layer exists.
4. Unauthorised model upgrades
Agents quietly upgraded from a cheaper to a premium model between billing cycles, with no procurement approval.
5. False completion claims
Vendor bills for work the agent claimed to have done — but the system of record never changed.
Six steps from invoice to evidence pack.
Step 1 — Capture
Ingest invoices, contracts, approvals, usage logs, ERP data, contract terms, and budget rules.
Step 2 — Attribute
Map each cost to agent, workflow, user, department, or project. Was the cost linked to a real task or retry waste?
Step 3 — Verify
Check invoice vs contract, usage vs approved workflow, spend vs budget, payment vs threshold.
Step 4 — Flag
Surface duplicate charges, retry storms, abnormal token spikes, unauthorised model upgrades, suspicious invoice changes.
Step 5 — Approve / Escalate / Dispute
Recommend payment decision based on evidence weight. Route to CFO, controller, or department owner.
Step 6 — Evidence Pack
Produce a payment evidence record: why payable, what created the cost, who approved it, what was checked, what was flagged.
Ten questions to ask before approving an AI-assisted bill.
- Usage — What usage created this cost?
- Actor — Which agent, user, team, workflow, or vendor caused it?
- Authority — Was it within approved budget and policy?
- Contract — Does the invoice match agreed pricing and terms?
- Outcome — Did the workflow produce useful output?
- Waste — Were there retries, duplicates, failed tasks, oversized prompts?
- Approval — Who reviewed the charge?
- Exception — Were any anomalies flagged?
- Evidence — Is there an audit trail?
- Decision — Should the bill be paid, held, disputed, or escalated?
If three or more answers are "we don't know," the invoice has missing approval evidence. Verify first, approve second.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need to install software inside our environment?
Not for the Evidence Brief. We work from billing data exports, contract documents, and approval logs. Software install is only required for ongoing TimeToPoint deployment.
What if our AI / SaaS spend is mostly small?
The Evidence Brief is best for organisations with at least £50K / month in AI / SaaS / cloud / utility spend. Below that threshold, the recovered ROI is harder to justify.
Will you tell us which vendors to drop?
No. We produce evidence — we do not make procurement decisions. Where vendors look weak on evidence, we surface it for your team to decide.
Do you replace our AP automation tool?
No. We sit between AP and approval, adding the verification layer that AP tools don't produce.
What’s the deepest engagement?
Larger or regulated teams can discuss custom enterprise scope after an Evidence Brief or workflow-readiness review.
